The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey for the second quarter 2016 was conducted by interviewing a representative sample of 2,100 employers in the UK.

All survey participants were asked, “How do you anticipate total employment at your location to change in the three months to the end of June 2016 as compared to the current quarter?”

UK employers report cautiously optimistic hiring intentions for the April-June time frame. With 9% of employers expecting to increase staffing levels, 2% anticipating a decrease and 88% forecasting no change, the resulting Net Employment Outlook is +7%.

Once the data is adjusted to allow for seasonal variation, the outlook also stands at +7%. Hiring prospects are unchanged quarter-over-quarter and remain relatively stable when compared with Quarter 2 2015.
