Social media scams
We’ve been notified of scam accounts across social media platforms, particularly TikTok, posing as ManpowerGroup UK or one of our brands (Brook Street, Experis UK, Manpower UK, Talent Solutions UK). These fraudsters promote fake job opportunities to extract personal information from recipients.
Just like deceptive emails that claim to be from your bank or mobile provider, these social media scammers aim to obtain your data with malicious intent.
We urge you to remain vigilant against these scam accounts. If you see a social media channel with content claiming to represent ManpowerGroup or our brands, and it looks suspicious or like a phishing attempt, please block the account and report the scam to the platform.
For more information on how to recognise phishing and what steps to take, visit the Action Fraud website: https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-phishing. Here are some tips on identifying a scam social media account:
- The account has a username unrelated to the name on the profile.
- The account contains AI-generated video. ManpowerGroup UK does not feature AI-generated video that mimics real people across our social media platforms.
- The account promises unrealistically high salaries or work conditions.
- The account requests money or personal information with a suspicious link.
- Text is poorly written and has spelling errors. AI-generated voiceovers may also feature broken grammar.
Please remember – our team conducts itself professionally and will never make any suspicious requests. We appreciate those who have reported these scams to us. If you need to report something, please reach out to your local ManpowerGroup branch or your contact person within the company.
