Jo Pursaill is the Director of Talent at ManpowerGroup UK. Jo is a talent development professional with over 20 years’ experience in the field, specialising in cultural change and leadership excellence to drive business results. A great believer in coaching others to draw out individual strengths, Jo has led global and market initiatives to develop leadership capability, mind-sets and behaviours that empower people and drive growth. Jo is an executive coach and works with leadership teams to develop business strategy and the supporting leadership models, frameworks and programmes to achieve it. A strong advocate of diversity, Jo has led initiatives to recruit and develop under-represented groups in the workplace, including those on the autistic spectrum. Jo actively supports the links between business and education, working with education partners to help young people develop the skills needed for work.

Tapping into neurodiverse talent to tackle the tech skills gap

The UK is suffering from a serious skills shortage, and IT, cyber security and data roles are among some of the hardest hit. The WEF’s Future of Jobs Report 2020 states that tech-related roles account for more than half of the top 20 in-demand roles globally. Similarly, our own research shows that among the most in-demand roles post-pandemic are Data Analysts and Scientists, Cyber Security Experts, Robotics Engineers, Automation Specialists and Software and Application Developers.
