ManpowerGroup Solutions named Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) leader
For the third consecutive year, BPO industry analyst firm NelsonHall name ManpowerGroup Solutions the world’s largest Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) provider 2014, and Everest Group recognises us as the global RPO Leader.

2013

ManpowerGroup Solutions is the top performing Managed Service Provider (MSP)
In Everest Group’s first MSP report, ManpowerGroup Solutions is named as the top performer among MSP service providers.

2012

Experis launches in the UK
Experis launches in the UK and Ireland, bringing together the best elements from Jefferson Wells, Manpower Professional and Elan and providing clients and candidates with access to a truly global network.

Olympic Games in London Staffed by Manpower
Manpower UK recruits 2,500 workers for the build-up to the Olympics and approximately 3,000 staff during the Games itself, after assessing and screening more than 30,000 candidates.

Manpower launches a Senior Appointments team
Senior Appointments is established; our dedicated Managers place specific focus on Mid-Managerial and Senior level roles across a range of skill sets, such as HR, Marketing, Sales and Legal.

2011

Evolution of the brand and organisation from Manpower Inc. to ManpowerGroup
Manpower Inc. changes its name to ManpowerGroup, reflecting the organisation’s global leadership in providing innovative workforce solutions for clients, and ManpowerGroup Solutions launches.

2008

Manpower launches a Logistics and Supply Chain team
Manpower’s operations in the Logistics sector expand, with the establishment of a specialist arm to provide Senior level permanent, interim and contract services, to the Logistics, Supply Chain and Purchasing industries.

2004

Elan is twice named as Recruitment Consultancy of the Year by The Computing Awards.
Jefferson Wells also opens its first European office in London and in the US, they are servicing 50% of all Fortune 500 companies.

2000

Driving Power launched in the UK
After having great success throughout the UK in the Logistics industry, Driving Power was established as the dedicated Logistics arm of Manpower.

Manpower acquires Elan Group, Ltd.
Manpower acquires Elan Group Ltd, one of the largest independent IT staffing firms in Europe. The Sunday Times’ calls Elan one of the top 100 British companies for profit growth.

The Elan family continues to grow
Between 1988 and 1996, seven offices open throughout the UK.

1995

Manpower begins offering outsourcing solutions to its clients
Manpower begins to offer HR and process management outsourcing services on a limited basis. This was expanded to a service line across countries in 2003, and became a formal business unit, Manpower Business Solutions, in 2004.

Elan and Nicolas Andrews are established
Both Elan and Nicholas Andrews, the precursor to Experis, are formed.

1960s

1968

Manpower Technical established
A new division, Manpower Technical, is established to specialise in areas such as engineering, drafting, and entry-level IT staffing. This represents Manpower’s launch into the business of staffing degreed professionals.

1967

Manpower stock is publicly traded on the NYSE
Manpower becomes a public company with an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker: MAN.

1966

Manpower Employment Outlook Survey launched in the UK
We launch the Quarterly Survey of Employment Prospects, a forward-looking research piece that’s the first of its kind in Europe.

Manpower establishes operations in the UK
Manpower expands into Europe by establishing operations in the UK Manpower now operates its EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region with offices in 27 countries.

Manpower Established
Manpower is founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA by attorneys Elmer Winter and Aaron Scheinfeld. The first offices were located in Milwaukee and Chicago, Illinois.
