It would be hard to miss how much the world of work has changed over the last few years. With plenty of emerging challenges and opportunities, fresh thinking is required to ensure these can be harnessed by HR and the wider public service workplace.
That’s what HR Star is all about. It gives emerging HR talent the chance to showcase their big ideas for the future of public services. It’s a platform where you can hone your skills and abilities, and cement your place as a future HR leader in public services.
HR Star is run as a partnership between the PPMA and ManpowerGroup, supported by the Local Government Association. So it’s a great opportunity to be recognised on an industry-wide stage. In fact, previous HR Star winners have gone on to be recognised with accolades from the CIPD and Personnel Today. Added to this, numerous participants have quickly climbed the career ladder since taking part. It’s the perfect opportunity to show what you’re really made of.
Entering the 2017 HR Star competition
To kick start your application to HR Star, we’d like you to tell us what you’d like your work life legacy to be. You can present this in any format you wish – a video, a blog, or anything in between. No matter which format you choose, what’s most important is that your show us your creative ideas for the future of HR in public services.
Once we’ve reviewed all of the applications, we’ll invite a shortlist to join us at Warwick University. During this two day event, we’ll hone and stretch your abilities through coaching and masterclasses, so you can unleash your full potential. We’ll then put you to the test, by asking you to present a two minute pitch to the judges, based on the theme of ‘disruptive HR’.
After the event, these presentations will be shared with the public online and through social media. It’ll be up to them to vote on who should be crowned our HR Star of 2017. Best of luck!
